Consumer Critique - Elementary Pet Food

Fresh and minimally processed pet food options are becoming more popular.  U.S. retail sales of fresh pet food are projected to grow from $3 billion to $10 billion over the next decade. ¹ Elementary Pet Food was created to offer another alternative to refrigerated food: Cold-Pressed premium nutrition that is shelf-stable, ultra-sustainable, independently tested and priced for everyday feeding.

I had a chance to try out Elementary Pet Food with my dog. She loved it! I found the packaging really easy to use and store, and the second meal that we fed her using the same package she was extra excited about - even more so than her normal food!

Made by Innovative Pet Holdings, LLC, Elementary Pet Food is pressed at ambient temperature without added heat. Unlike refrigerated or frozen food, it requires no thawing, preparation or cold storage.

An independent AAFCO Method 1 study conducted at a USDA-registered research facility found that Elementary’s Chicken & Superfoods Recipe achieved 87 percent dry matter digestibility, 89.8 percent protein digestibility and 95 percent fat digestibility. The study classified its performance as premium-tier and comparable to high-end extruded dog foods. ² The protein-first recipes contain no corn, soy, wheat, seed oils or artificial dyes. They also include collagen peptides to support joint health and natural betaine to support digestive health, creating Benefits Beyond Food™. Both the Chicken & Superfoods and Salmon & Superfoods recipes are formulated for dogs in all life stages.

Because the food is nutrient-dense, pet parents may feed approximately 30 percent less for comparable nutritional value. ³

Elementary also addresses packaging and transportation waste. Its recyclable POUCH³ licensed package uses up to 50 percent less material than many conventional pet food pouches. The design received the 2026 Flexible Packaging Association Highest Achievement Award, and two Gold Awards for packaging innovation. ⁴

Pet parents can request an eight-ounce sample and learn how to take the Watson Challenge at https://innovativepetholdings.com/watson-challenge/. Shipping charges apply. Owners should transition foods gradually and consult a veterinarian if their dog has dietary sensitivities.
